Piezometer Data Base Package User's Guide.

Abstract

A data base package for storage, retrieval, and display of piezometer data for geotechnical projects is described. Detailed instructions are given for using the package for monitoring piezometers, rapid retrieval of data, and display of piezometer locations, time history plots, and piezometer readings with embankment profiles. The package provides for easy, interactive data entry and editing with automatic data checks and error messages when data exceed user specified ranges. Data storage and retrieval are accomplished using the CE-owned SYSTEM 2000 Data Base Management System on the Corps-wide time-sharing service operated (1984) by Control Data Corporation. The data entry and retrieval programs developed for the package are designed for a low skill level and minimum training of personnel.
