The Role of the Soviet Union in the Arab-Israeli Peace Process.

Abstract

After defining the significance of the Middle East in Soviet foreign policy and reviewing current Soviet initiatives in the region, this paper examines post-war II trends and events that have brought Moscow's involvement in the Arab-Israeli peace process to its current juncture. The events analyzed in this paper ended with the August 11, 1985, adjournment of the Casablanca conference. (Author)
