Abstract
This document is Volume II of a Scientific and Technical report prepared for the U.S. Army Missile Command (MICOM). It represents a command-wide scientific and engineering Computing Requirements Analysis of the Command's current, near-term (5 years) and long-term (10 years) Requirements. The Analysis included Hardware Analysis, Software Analysis, Telecommunications Hardware Capabilities, Telecommunications Software Analysis, Terminal Support Analysis, Graphics Device Support Analysis, Peripeheral Device Analysis Communications Lines and Circuits and Current Scientific and Engineering Computing User Community Analysis. A Brief Investigation of the Past included Level of Support and Historic Workload Analysis. The Future included New Applications by Organizations, Growth of the User Community and Advancement of Technology. A Functional Analysis of the Requirements included Software Category Requirements by Organization, User Requirements, Training and Support Requirements, System Integration Requirements, Conversion Requirements, and a study of Mainframes, Minicomputers, Microcomputers, Word Processing and Terminals.
