Uniform Transverse Magnetic Field Inside a Long Cylinder,

Abstract

For applications where uniform transverse magnetic field is required over a substantial distance, the use of dipole magnets can be quite cumbersome. This illustrative article presents a simple technique to achieve a uniform and uniaxial transverse magnetic field inside a long cylinder, which can be easily carried out.
