The Damage Tolerance of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Composites - A Workshop Summary.

Abstract

The workshop held in Glasgow, Scotland on 12 September 1985 included participants from the US, the UK, Australia, West Germany, and France. This report discusses six critical problem areas associated with damage tolerance of carbon-fiber reinforced composite materials: damage tolerant materials, testing methods, structural life prediction, damage tolerant design concepts, repair methods, and nondestructive testing.
