Potential for Using Loess in Sand Asphalt Mixtures.

Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluate the relative benefits of using loess filler in sand asphalt mixtures. Mixtures were prepared at optimum asphalt content having various amounts of loess filler and limestone dust filler. Tests were conducted on the prepared samples to determine the relative quality of each mix. The results of this study indicate that the mixtures prepared with limestone dust filler performed as well as or better than the samples prepared with loess filler. Keywords: Aggregates (Building materials); Concrete--Additives.
