Fatigue Analysis East Coast Air Combat Maneuvering Range Offshore Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.

Abstract

This report evaluates the fatigue limit strengths for the design of a tripod-type ocean structure for the East Coast Air combat Maneuvering Range Offshore Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. The ocean structure investigated herein, a three-pile structure with equilaterally spaced jacket legs, is installed in a water depth (MLW) of 105 feet. The structure is secured to the ocean floor permanently by driving tubular piles through the jacket legs into the seabed. A superstructure is attached to the piling above the jacekt. Contents: Elevations and Plans; Wave Forces on Structure; Fatigue Limit Stress; Fatigue Life of Structure; Modified Goodman Diagram for Design; Punching Shear Stress; Stress Analysis; and Wave forces.
