Design Calculations 105' MLW Structure East Coast Air Combat Maneuvering Range Offshore Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Volume 1.

Abstract

The purpose of this report is to provide a document insuring the structural integrity of two of the four marine structures of the U.S. Navy East Coast Air Combat Maneuvering Range, offshore of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. These two structures are identified as Structure 3 at Site 3 and Structure 4 at Site 4, both resting in approximately 105 feet of water. Since the analysis of these two structures will differ only in the soil properties at each of their sites, the report will treat them as one except when the soil properties influence the anlaysis. Contents: Structural Drawings; Structural Idealization; Basic Loads; Loading Conditions; Space Frame Analysis; Tubular Joint Analysis; Pile-Jacket Connection; Pile Analysis; Installation Analyses; Corrosion Protection; and Material List and Weight.
