Stable Compensation of Nonlinear Communications Systems (Using Volterra Systems Characterization). Volume 2.

Abstract

Using a mean-square IM criterion, a new approach for the reduction of intermodulation distortion is developed here. Advantages realized are: (1) reduction of IM distortion by 15 to 50 dB, (2) guaranteed stability of the compensator, (3) a minimum pre-specified damping ration of the blocks of the nonlinear compensator. Adesign program based on the approach is also presented. Keywords include: Communications systems; Frequency-dependent nonlinearity; Volterra characterization; Intermodulation; IM interference; and Compensator.
