Investigation on Reduction of Flow Noise of the 0.6m x 0.6m Trisonic Wind Tunnels,

Abstract

A significant reduction of the tunnel flow noise was achieved and the noise level has been among the lowest of the intermittent wind tunnels both at home and aboard by adding a noise-reducing device after the pressure regulating valve. Mounting screens on the perforated walls in the test section permitted further reduction of the flow noise in the section. It has been shown however, that the screen-mounting technique on the walls needs to be improved. Keywords: Noise reduction.
