UE Bench Test Plans and Requirements. Volume 1. Magnavox UE Set.
Abstract
When the GPS becomes operational, the QRF Laboratory of the NAVAIRDEVCEN GPS Central Engineering Activity will be required to provide a capability to resolve problems which relate to the performance of the RF elements of the UE. In order to meet these requirements, the RF Laboratory is planning to provide for: computer analysis of the problem using a UE RF Emulator, RF bench test of the UE down to the component level using modern automatic testing techniques, and system level testing of the UE and antenna system using a Satellite Signal Generator and mockups of actual antenna installations. The bench tests will involve many detailed measurements to determine the effect of UE components upon the performance of the UE as a receiver and processor of the GPS signal.
