The Value of Information as an Integral Part of Aerospace and Defence R&D Programmes.

Abstract

The Technical Information Panel of AGARD is concerned with the storage, retrieval and dissemination of scientific and technical information relating to aerospace and defense. The Specialists' Meeting organized by the Panel in 1985 was concerned with the value of information as an integral part of aerospace and defense R & D programmes. Ten papers were presented, comprising the following topics: the information required at three different levels - policy-making (two papers), programme management and research; the quantitative value of information (two papers); the need for international exchange of information; information resources management; the requirements for the future; and the likely impact of new technologies.
