Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Fleet Moorings Inspection Report.

Abstract

This report contains results of the inspection of fleet moorings at the U.S. Naval Weapons Station, Seal beach, California. The Ocean Engineering and Construction Project Office of CHESNAVFACENGCOM conducted the inspection from 30 August through 3 September 1982 with the support of divers from Underwater Construction Team Two. Results indicate a majority of the moorings are in satisfactory condition. However, because of the normal cycle of chain deterioration, several of the moorings are in need of immediate attention. Comments concerning the conditions of those in the latter category, along with recommended maintenance actions, are included. Keywords: Mooring buoys.
