Charm School--Dealing with People.

Abstract

This paper addresses the creation and subsequent history of the charm school that developed at Mather Air Force Base to foster harmony and common courtesy among base employees. This paper reviews writing and thinking on the subjects of interpersonal relations and communications. There is a formal outline of the Instructional System Development (ISD) process whereby the 'charm school' was developed into a usable videotape product. The videotape is intended to be used to help motivate military and civilian workers to develop better attitudes regarding personal interaction and communication skills.
