Abstract
This is a packet of briefing charts for a speech given by Gen. Maxwell Thurman. The main topic was continued modernization of Army forces to support Army missions of: defeating a Warsaw Pact attack, denying Soviet Control of the Persian Gulf, definding U.S. interests in the Pacific Supporting Allies, maintaining a strategic reserve, and responding to other threats.
