Superlattice Optical Bistability Research.

Abstract

This report summarizes our progress and results during this reporting period. Our experiments show that the growth of thick (approx 5 micrometers) superlattice samples of HgTe/CdTe requires the use of an MBE system with in situ diagnostic capability to assure stability of growth parameters for periods of several hours. Our efforts with our in house MBE system have not succeeded in growing thick superlattice samples needed for the optical experiments.
