Local Automation Model: Implementation Planning for the Prototype System,

Abstract

The LAM project encompasses system design, development, and evaluation of a fully integrated library system for technical libraries and is sponsored by the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) located at Cameron Station in Alexandria, Virginia. This implementation plan (IP) addresses site preparation, installation, accreditation, operation and maintenance for the prototype minicomputer version of the Local Automation Model (LAM), a dedicated classified minicomputer, as well as required support and applications software. The implementation plan serves two purposes. First and foremost, it is the overall IP for the prototype site, Defense Nuclear Agency Headquarters. It can also be used as a model for others preparing automation system an intelligent gateway processor. The IP contains the following information: the tasks required for implementation, a summary of system requirements and general guidelines for system implementation.
