MAGTF (Marine Air Ground Task Force) Data Transfer Alternatives (1986-1996).

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to determine optimum and alternative data transfer configurations for ADFE-FMF and other End User Computing Equipment (EUCE) in support of the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) communications requirements both within and external to the amphibious objective area (AOA). The study's purpose was to determine what impact the introduction of automated Information systems (AIS) into the AOA will have on the Landing Force Integrated Communications System (LFICS). The study sought to determine what communications requirements exist for AIS support of deployed MAGTFS, and identify shortfalls and solutions and determine optimum and alternative data transfer plans for the selective transmission of data in accordance with priority and circuit availability.
