Scintillation Effects on Centroid Anisoplanatism.

Abstract

The effect of scintillation on turbulence induced centroid anisoplanatism is discussed. It is shown that this effect has negligible impact on the resulting Strehl ratio for D/r sub o > or = 100, where D is the optics aperture diameter and r sub o is the turbulence induced lateral coherence length. Keywords: Adaptive optics; Amplitude effects on centroid anisoplanatism; Anisoplanatism; Beam control; and Turbulence Induced Optical Phase Distortion.
