On Closing the Implementation Gap: Symposium Proceedings

Abstract

This set of papers discusses ways to increase the return on investments in innovation and training development by taking steps to close the implementation gap that opens when new products are received but not used in the field. Papers were developed for a symposium conducted during the meeting of the American Psychological Association in August 1981. The papers examine the nature of the implementation problems and recommend procedures for anticipating the problems and improving implementation planning and tracking as means for closing the implementation gap. Keywords: Implementation; Training products; Technology transfer; Program management; Planned change; Modernization; and Innovation.
