Abstract

The purpose of this report is to document the efforts and analyses of the Barking Sands Underwater Range Expansion (BSURE) In-water System Replacement Design Review Team (DRT) formed by Naval Air Systems Command, AIR-630 letter 630-SL-027 of 5 Nov 1981 and additionally by NAVAIR message 271220Z of 27 Jan 1982. The DRT was tasked to investigate in detail the redesigned BSURE cable termination to determine its mechanical and electrical adequacy for use in the BSURE replacement project. A team consisting of representatives from PACMISTESTCEN (PMTC), CHESNAVFACENGCOM (CHESDIV), and NUSC conducted a design review of the TATU cable termination seals to be used in the BSURE replacement program.
