Some Investigations into Variable Meshes for Numerical Solution of Partial Differential Equations.

Abstract

This study involved investigation of numerical methods for the approximate solution of partial differential equations. Specifically, the following two topics were investigated: Spatial meshes that change with time; and Space-time finite elements. The work involved both theoretical investigations and computational experiments.
