Plasma Joining of Metal Matrix Composites.

Abstract

Microstructural details of the first 1110 Al/SiC and Al(Zr)/SiC precomposited powders are described. These powders will be used for initial low pressure plasma depositions. Modeling of expected bulk and interfacial reactions and degradation mechanisms in plasma processing of the composite powder filler metals is described in detail. Keywords: Plasma processing, Thermochemistry.
