A Prototype Model for Automating Nursing Diagnosis, Nurse Care Planning and Patient Classification.
Abstract
This project serves as a prototype of an automated nursing care system. The project contains three main components: nursing diagnosis, nursing care plans, and patient classification. The objective of this project is to marry the above three nursing elements into a single integrated system. The program requires validation for access and patient admission capability. Doctor's orders and nurse's orders comprise major inputs for determining the elements of patient care. Patient care functions carry weighted qualifiers which input to calculate the patient classification. The project uses dBase III to manage the database functions and Exsys to calculate patient classification. Keywords: Computer, Expert system.
