Network Management in an Emergency Communications System.

Abstract

This thesis begins with a synopsis of contemporary knowledge concerning network management as it has been implemented in a modern communications network, and as it has been postulated by experts in the fields of systems engineering and systems management. It then provides a summary of known operational requirements for a generic emergency communications system, as well as speculation on potential requirements for future application. Finally, it combines the knowledge of network management with the knowledge of network management with the known and projected operational requirements into a proposal for a network management system capable of supporting a generic emergency communications network. Keywords: Monitoring; Network analysis(management). (Author)
