Price Screening Methodology.

Abstract

This study determined the feasibility of developing price screens to flag invalid unit prices of Army Stock Fund and Procurement Appropriation-Secondary (PA-2) items. Price bands were developed for three selected FSC groups using correlation and regression analysis. Production Lead Time and size (cube) were used in the multiple regression equation to predict price. Although the degree of correlation was low, the price bands did improve the probability of flagging invalid prices in comparison to random sampling for high-priced items.
