Evaluation of the Collins/Rockwell Two Axis Gyro/Accelerometer Sensor Cluster (Phase III Unit)

Abstract

The Phase III Two-Axis Gyro/Accelerometer (TAGA) cluster is a strapdown IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) with prelaunch self-calibration capabilities. The self-calibration mechanism allows for computer directed self tests which measure eight major performance parameters prior to launch. The purpose of this evaluation is to confirm performance stability of these eight parameters. The performance stability will decide the method of thermal compensation.
