Bias Reduction

Abstract

A summary of research accomplishments sponsored by this Office of Naval Research Contract during the period from 1 February 1982 to 31 August 1985. The technical objectives of this project involved (i) further extensions and applications of the jackknife, (ii) minimum distance estimation, (iii) optimal and robust designs for a broad class of regression and time problems and (iv) splines. A total of 16 articles were published in referred journals. A brief description of the results are given in Section II. The complete citations of the papers are given in Section III. Other professional activities of the two investigators, William R. Schucany and Randall L. Eubank, are listed in Section IV and the two respective Curriculum Vitae are attached as an Appendix.
