Abstract

This document was prepared to provide librarians with a comparative overview of the specifications of automated library systems on the market at this time. The descriptions are based on reference materials, vendor literature and personal discussions with vendor representatives and users of the systems. The data in this document should be used as a screening tool to determine which systems you need to get more information about. Data elements included are based on those factors essential to determine the system size and functions. Vendors have been afforded the opportunity to review the information included on their system, and make corrections as they felt appropriate. Keywords: Information storage and retrieval; Integrated library systems; Software; Hardware; Minicomputer; Microcomputers; Databases.
