Abstract

This report presents a systematic study of the frequency shift that occurs at the peak of the P20 line of a CO2 waveguide laser with respect to the gas pressure, the gas mixture and the operating temperature. Frequency shifts of several megahertz have been observed under certain conditions. These measurements were obtained using tubes made of beryllium oxide, alumina and glass.
