Multisite Situation Assessment: Knowledge-Based Interaction, Reconstruction, and Post Analysis.

Abstract

Previous investigations are continued in the areas of (a) automated reconstruction and post analysis of operations and exercises, and (b) communication among data-fusion systems at different sites. Examples of post analysis is given, and a scenario is given showing three different views of a situation from three involved units. A reconstruction and post-analysis system is outlined, and a representation scheme is developed that enables what if reasoning in post analysis. The what-if situations typically involve postulating a different track or a different action. The action could be a communication; and the refinement, by post analysis, of rules for exchanging data among sites is discussed. Other considerations relating to developing rules for data exchange are also discussed.
