Three Years of Evaluation of the Army's Basic Skills Education Program

Abstract

This report summarizes 3 years of evaluation research on the Army's Basic Skills Education Program. It describes analyses of standard, pilot, and revised programs as well as programs under development. Overall findings reveal that all programs tend to move participants in the direction of Army goals, although a substantial number of soldiers fail to meet program criteria. Army decision makers can be guided by these findings in planning the future of the Basic Skills Education Program. (Author)
