Liquid Chromatographic Determination of Explosives and Polynuclear Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Deactivation Furnace Ash.

Abstract

Some liquid chromatographic (LC) methods have been developed for the determination of explosives and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) in deactivation furnace ash. The explosives are extracted with acetonitrile and filtered through a 0.45 micron filter prior to analysis. The PAHs are extracted with methylene chloride in a soxhlet extraction apparatus and purified with a silica gel/solid phase extraction column.
