HMX: The Determination of Free Nitrite in Mouse Stomach Contents.

Abstract

A sensitive method for the analysis of nitrite in the stomach contents of mice was developed. The stomach contents of mice from a 90 day toxicity study on HMX were analyzed at termination of the study. Only 0.1 to 1.1 ppm was found. The content was not related to the HMX content of the diet and was consistent with what might have been expected from the laboratory animal diet.
