Topics covered for elevated roosts include design,m construction, installation, placement, maintenance, personnel and costs, cautions and limitations, and evaluation. The development of artificial roosting structures for use by the California quail (Callipepla californica) and Gambel's quail (C. gambelii) is described in this report. The structure given primary consideration is a wooden crib elevated on wooden posts and filled with brush. Detailed construction and assembly details, including specification drawings and lists of materials, are provided.
