Coyote Creek Flood Control Proposal, Santa Clara County, California. Volume 1.

Abstract

Draft environmental impact statement concerning a regulatory permit application by the Santa Clara Valley Water District, under jurisdiction of Section 10 of the River and Harbor Act of 1899 and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. The proposal involves construction of flood control measures on Coyote Creek in the southerm San Francisco Bay region. Significant environmental impacts include elimination of wetland and riparian vegetation and effects on endangered species. A mitigation program was developed to compensate for the environmental losses, including planting of riparian vegetation, creation wetland habitat, and protection and long-term management of endangered species habitat.
