Fiber-Optics -- A Sensing Device.

Abstract

An analysis of the current state-of-the-art of intensity-modulated fiber-optic sensors is performed. The dominant types of intensity-modulated fiber senors are outlined. The principles of operation are detailed and a description of the performance potentials and limitations are described. Trends in development and application areas are depicted.
