Fundamentals of a Group Technology Electronics Classification and Coding System. Requirements Definition.

Abstract

This document is a report of the requirements for a Group Technology Electronics Classification and Coding System (ECACS). The report outlines a methodology for code development, identifies implications of these activities for an ECACS and defines a general structure for the code. There are certain general considerations which must be reviewed before actual code development is begun. In order to develop a classification and coding system for electronics the following must be considered: applications; existing software utility programs; and code format and layout.
