Learning Strategies Used by High School Students Learning English as a Second Language

Abstract

A part of the Basic Skills Resource Center research component, the research effort described in this report was designed to identify the range of learning strategies, used by high school students in ESL classrooms and determine if the strategies interact with the type of language task and English proficiency level of the students. Data collected through teacher and student interviews as well as classroom observations are synthesized and summarized. Keywords: English as a second language, Second language acquisition.
