Control Coordination of Large Scale Hereditary Systems.

Abstract

A decentralized control strategy, which allows some level of autonomous component control for large scale hereditary systems, has been developed. The basic problem considered is how to add constraints ot the component objectives and to arrange exchanges of information which enable all components to achieve their objectives. The approach requires that component interactions be suitably limited so that variational methods can be used to determine component controls independently. A reproducing kernel Hilbert space of Hellinger integrable functions provides the setting for the description of system operators and the analysis of optimization problems. This work has been reported in papers entitled: Decentralized Control for Large Scale Hereditary Systems and Control Coordination for Large Scale System. In other related work geometric, algebraic, and graph theoretic properties of system materices have been characterized which allow some autonomy in the choice of component control laws. This is reported in a paper entitled Canonical Forms for Decentralized Control.
