National Dam Safety Program Inspection Report. South Branch Root River. Lanesboro Dam, Fillmore County, Minnesota, Inventory Number 517.

Abstract

Evaluation of the dam included on-site inspection, a review of available plans and an evaluation of the hydraulic and hydrologic characteristics of the dam and reservoir. In addition, an evaluation of the operation and maintenance, geotechnical and structural aspects of the dam was made. The Lanesboro Dam is classified as a high hazard dam because of the proximity to downstream residential areas. However, if the measures recommended in this report are implemented, there would be a low threat of failure of the Lanesboro Dam.
