Liquid Crystalline 3d Porphyrin Complexes.

Abstract

Collective electron transport and magnetic interactions along cofacially aligned metalloporphyrin chains are discussed. These are linked in polymeric form through bidentate bridging ligands. Two classes of materials being studied are simple porphyrin derivatives and liquid crystalline mesodiscotic phthalocyanine complexes. First row, 3d, and second and third row, 4d and 5d, metals are being studied and compared.
