Job Performance Measurement: A Systematic Program of Research and Development

Abstract

This paper describes the Air Force's strategy for developing, evaluating, and selecting a measurement methodology for use in validating selection systems and evaluating training programs across a wide range of job specialties. Background, current status, and future plans of the job performance measurement project are discussed in terms of alleviating the criterion problem that has defied solution by industrial psychologists for many years.
