Evaluation Report of Codercard CPP-300 Port Protector.

Abstract

This is a report of the National Computer Security Center's (NCSC) evaluation of Codercard's CPP-300 product. The product performed a 2-way handshaking algorithm between the host site and the remote site and is designed to protect a single asynchronous communication prot from unauthorized use. While the CPP-300 does not encrypt the data that goes across the communication lines and does not implement a trusted path as described in the Department of Defense Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria, it can provide immediate improvements in security at computer installations which face attack from unauthorized users or computer hackers.
