Modeling the Enlistment Process for Personnel Planning

Abstract

Each year the Army expends resources processing a large number of applicants in order to recruit the desired number of enlistments. This paper examines the processing of applicants from the Military Enlistment Processing Site through to accession. The differential behavior of various categories of applicants was analyzed over FY 81 and FY 82 to identify patterns, trends, and areas where processing improvements may be possible.
