A Research Program for the Neutral/Ion Chemistry of Metals in the Stratosphere and Mesosphere.

Abstract

A one-dimensional model has been developed to calculate densities and diurnal behavior of background trace gases as well as metal neutral and ionic species between 60 and 120 km. Particular attention has been given to the modeling of sodium species, given the availability of both observational and kinetic data.
