Research Opportunities in Magnetism for Naval Applications. Report on a Workshop Held on June 2-4, 1986 Held at West Lafayette, Indiana.

Abstract

A workshop entitled Research Opportunities in Magnetism for Naval Applications was held at Purdue University on June 2-4, 1986. The objective of the Workshop was to identify areas of research in magnetism which could lead to new and improved capabilities for the Navy. In this report the results of the Workshop are given, together with a list of high priority recommendations for action. Transduction and Magnetoelasticity; Microwave Ferrites and High Frequency Materials; Magneto-optic Applications; Magnetic Recording; Magnetic Memories; and New Magnetic Materials Development.
