Computer-Controlled Data Aquisition and Analysis

Abstract

A computer-controlled data acquisition and analysis system was designed, built, and tested. All of the required elements of a complete data acquisition system were assembled, including transducers, amplifiers, signal conditioners, display devices, computer interface, computer, and related software. A digital multiplexer was constructed to multiplex up to 16, 16-bit channels for input into the computer. A computer program was written to bring the various parts of the system together. An experiment, Analysis of an Airfoil by Pressure Distribution, was used as a vehicle to test the system. The final output of the data acquisition system, including graphical information, compared favorably with previous results from an older data acquisition system in use. Keywords: Wind tunnels.
