Analysis of Metastable State Production and Energy Transfer.

Abstract

The potential of using electrically excited metastable N2(A) state as an energy carrier for a transfer visible laser is reviewed. Topics covered included electron impact excitation cross sections, Townsend discharge properties, chemical kinetic phenomena, mixing issues, and possible transfer partners.
