Demonstrate Cyclic Reforming of Logistic Fuel for Fuel Cell Power Plants.

Abstract

A program was conducted, sponsored by the U.S. Army, to demonstrate cyclic reforming of military logistic fuel. This report describes the technical effort and results of the design, fabrication and test of a nominal 20-kW fuel cell cyclic reformer fuel processing system. The objective of the program was to demonstrate the ability to produce a hydrogen rich gaseous product stream suitable for use as a feed stream to a phosphoric acid fuel cell power plant utilizing military logistic fuel. Included in this final report, is the basis for the selection of the cyclic reforming process, a description of the test train design, a discussion of the test and results, and the analysis of the data obtained.
